Have you ever just listened to someone talk.  It is said that what comes from the mouth originates from the heart.

The bible is very clear.  James writes in James 1:26

James 1:26 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.

I can’t get over how many proclaimed Christians can unleash a flurry of words that would blush most sailors (and I was in the Navy) yet justify their speech as ‘its who I am’.  For those new to Christ there will be a conviction that, over time, will cause a miraculous change in the words they use.

However, for those who have been seasoned in Christ over several years, I encourage you to pray and study Pslam 141:3

Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.

May the Lord fill your heart with Joy and Thanksgiving so that what you say reflects your heart as a testament to Him.
